Justin Vanderhoof is a highly skilled professional with a diverse background in military service and construction. Born in Monmouth County, New Jersey, he spent his early years in Augusta County, Virginia, before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 2004. His military career began at Edwards Air Force Base in Southern California, where he trained as a Security Forces member.
In 2006, Justin deployed to Camp Bucca, Iraq, serving as a corrections officer, where he was responsible for overseeing the security and management of detainees. In 2008, he was deployed to Balad Air Base, Iraq, where he operated as a first responder and patrolman with the 76th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in the Provost Marshall’s Office. His duties included responding to emergencies, maintaining security protocols, and ensuring the safety of personnel and facilities.
After being reassigned to Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2010, Justin served as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Electronic Security Systems and Resource Protection. In this role, he managed the security of all government facilities, overseeing access controls and safeguarding critical resources. He later worked at a classified location as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Installation Security, Supply & Logistics, and the Unit Training sections, where he developed training programs and ensured effective security measures were in place.
While enlisted, Justin completed his Associate’s Degree in Political Science and attended specialized training programs, including the FBI Crisis Negotiation School and the Advanced Designated Marksman Course. His military service instilled a strong sense of leadership and discipline, which has been evident in his professional endeavors.
After separating from the Air Force in 2017, Justin joined the Las Vegas local Carpenters Union, working as a Journeyman Carpenter for the Department of the Air Force. He constructed multiple Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and became proficient with GSA standards. After attending the Lockmasters GSA Safe and Vault Technician and Inspector course, Professional Locksmithing I & II as well as the LOM10K courses he excelled in his role as a locksmith. His skills included inspecting, drilling, and rectifying GSA containers, installation of door hardware and managing keying systems for secure installations.
In his personal life, Justin is a dedicated family man who enjoys spending time with his loved ones, watching sports, and collecting sports cards and memorabilia. His diverse experiences and commitment to excellence continue to shape his professional and personal aspirations.
